Facilities - the gym


Here at Reach we pride ourselves on the quality of our service, and that means providing the best possible facilities for our members to train in. We were designed by one of the only qualified gym designers in the country (our MD, Henry Tosh) around the idea that we could accommodate anyone from complete beginner to Olympic athlete.

Most gyms will consist of 3 main areas: Cardiovascular, Resistance Machines, Free weights. Here's how Reach has approached each area:

Cardiovascular

We have a wide array of Cybex bikes, treadmills and arc-trainers. Bikes and treadmills you will probably be familiar with but our arc-trainers are something a bit special! We have two versions, a lower body and a total body. The arc trainer varies the incline and resistance, unlike a typical cross trainer. We also have several Concept 2 rowers, if you're not familiar with them then it's about time you gave them a try! They really are a fantastic total body workout.

Resistance Machines

In most gyms the resistance machines are poor substitutes for training with free weights. They lock you in an unnatural movement that has little relevance for daily activity. But not at Reach! Free Weights

Now this is where we really excel! Over 25% percent of our floor space is devoted to free weights; the industry average is 5%! We have dumbbells in 1kg increments up to 20kg and 2kg increments up to 50kg. We have a bench press platform, a power rack, a trap bar, a dipping frame, a hyperextension bench and much, much more.
